Yesterday (11-11-07) was my 2nd sister's wedding...
Morning was the traditional one. Then wedding dinner at the hotel.
Part 1 - Winning the hand of the brideIn the morning, the groom came late. At 1st I thought was really becos of genuine reasons, in the end I found out that it was an attempt to escape the "tekan plans" from the sisters... Aiyoyo... I was nearly tricked!
Anyway, they came in the cars horning as they entered our block's carpark. Then soon they were at the door. The groom said that the delay was cos of the roasted pig; said that the roasted pig took bus... Faintz.
Was quite a mild set of tekan plan.
1. Yogasutra
Each person do a yoga pose and to hold it there for for a minute.
(Last night, I discovered that 2 branches of 1 of my mum's plants broke. Who is the culprit???)
2. Q&A
For each question they answered wrongly, they have to pluck out leg hair.
Only 2 of them experienced that.
Groom refused to part with his leg hair... Said he shaved his leg hair already...
(How can it be???)
3. Groom to sing a song to my sister
Sis requested for Adam Sandler's "Grow old with you". It is the song that he sang for my sis when he proposed to her.
4. Reading and signing the love "contract"
This includes "You are never unreasonable", "I will buy you whatever you like.", "Your money is yours, and my money is yours", etc.
And the best part is the permission slip. The guy's one is a full page thing. The gal's one is "I want to go out now" only. Haha!
Then groom declared his love for my sister and entered the room. He was rather emotional, but it really showed his sincerity for my sister. Hehe! Congrats!
Then sis ate some dishes that my parents cooked.
Part 2 - Photoshoot at ChijmesSome "poses" with car... Photographer says that we are very fake... :(
Then the couple went on to take lovey-dovey pictures while we watched them
Then it was the hand bouquet throwing time.
Too far for anyone... But French went to the rescue and caught the bouquet, yeah!
Personally, I am afraid of catching the bouquet. I caught it once at Darius and Daphne's wedding last year and my "tao hua yun" hasn't come yet. Paiseh!
Part 3 - Lunch and tea ceremony at Groom's sideWe had our lunch there. :)
It was quiet as no music was played...
Then they had their tea ceremony there.
I got to saw the room that they repainted and decorated. Looks nice!
Sis and husband will stay there for a few months before their new house is ready.
Then sis changed into the red kua/kwa. Was followed by photo-taking before we left the house.
Part 4 - Tea ceremony at homeHome sweet home.
The couple offered tea to my parents.
Then YM said that I also need to offer tea to my sis and jie-fu.
So yes, I called my sister's husband Jie-fu for the 1st time. Kinda funny, but nice lah!
They gave me hongbao.
But hor, the embarassing thing was that Jie-fu wish me that I will find a boyfriend soon. I know his intentions were good but very paiseh leh... I just smile smile lor. Please dun do that to me again leh... Else face duno hide where next time.
Then they ate tang yuan. And we offered some to their friends.
Then everyone left for a small rest before the evening plans.
Legs were tired, so I lied on my bed for at least 20 mins.
Part 5 - DinnerHaze (my sister's friend) helped me to do up my hair and put make-up for me.
I wore a pink sweet dress that I bought on Friday.
Sister had her makeup and hair done by the same makeup artist that she had in the morning.
Pretty with makeup, tiara and nice curls... The star of the day all done up for her big moment as they spend their night at the wedding dinner.
I think it went on pretty well.
1st march-in: A&J came in with balloons.
Haha, we were supposed to bring the hongbaos up but I said I wanted to watch them walk in. So we sneaked in thru the sidedoor and stood there to see. We moved nearer to a half empty table to see nearer too.
My sister's friends and jie-fu's friends took care of me. Haha, that's the good thing about being a little sister hor? Y and Z encouraged me to go into the hall and moved nearer to see. I think they are very sweet people. I think I am like Y that kind of person. Not a very high-profile person but very willing to help.
Then went up to put hongbaos.
I did not get to sit at the 2nd VIP table in the end. Sat with my mum's friends. But they are very friendly people who took care of me. Helped me to keep food when I was away. I'm happy that my mum has them as friends. So they are cheerful people, not like some bitter aunties always complaining one. My mum said that they are helpful people too.
2nd march-in: Sis changed gown and A&J walked in with "Rainbow Connection" music.
Champagne popping, toasting, and their thank you speeches.
Then photo-taking.
Before that, in between was 2 photo montage shows also.
They had a script but I found that there were too many "thank you"s so I helped to edit on Thursday. In the end, the emcees found it very formal. Haha! But they used it anyway, but with improvisions. Hiak hiak~!
Congrats to Jo and Allen, may you both have a most wonderful wedding! May you fall deeper in love with each other with each coming day. The route is not a easy one, but as you put each other before yourself with whatever you do, it will definitely work out. Love you both!
Home sweet homeUnpacked my stuff...
Did not miss my sister much on that day itself. Cos din want to have any cry scenes also.
But today, just now, I missed her... Cos it is just different that she will be staying somewhere else. I won't get to sleep in the same room as her... The house will have 1 less person most of the time... I do not know if you ever have this feeling, but yes I do feel that I miss her presence.
Jie, please always remember your little sister here. Thanks for telling me that I can call you whenever I miss you! If you need someone to talk to, know that I am here for you too. I love you very much! You mean a lot to me. :)
Yeah! Happy for you, Jo!
